Post Winter Inland
Update
February 20, 2006
It's official. Any manufacture building a boat that meets the
measurements of the A Scow Open Fleet may freely do so.
At the recent ILYA Winter Inland, the A Scow Open Fleet rules
were amended back to their original language as of 2003. We
are back to being a box rule fleet as we have been for over
100 years of the most competitive racing in the inland lakes.
We believe these rules allow for close racing while instilling
vitality into scow racing and allowing for improvements to the
design of scows in general.
These rules also acknowledge that developing, preparing and
rigging a boat are also important aspects of being a
competitive sailor. The highest levels of sailing have always
been and continue to be box rule or similar rules that also
include the development of the boats. Classes such as the
America's Cup, TransPac 52's, Moth hydro-foilers, Skeeter
iceboats, Open 60's, and nearly all prestigious classes
throughout modern history.
The 2006 season will be a rebuilding season for the class.
Please contact us if you'd like to learn more.
We eagerly anticipate a great racing season in 2006 and
beyond.
Sincerely,
Brad Robinson
